Things to do
Point Danger Lookout – Walk to Point Danger Lookout and visit the Captain Cook Memorial. From this vantage point you can watch the surfers at Duranbah Beach, spot whales and dolphins, and enjoy the coastal vista. On a fine day there are views from Surfers Paradise to Byron Bay.
Coolangatta Beach – lovely clean beach with golden sand.
Snapper Rocks – Snapper Rocks is a small rocky outcrop on the northern side of Point Danger at the southern end of Rainbow Bay on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It is a famous surf break and today the start of the large sand bank known to surfers as the Superbank.
Kirra Hill – One of the Gold Coast’s most picturesque and scenic spots from which to enjoy a barbecue or picnic.
Greenmount Beach – This is a beautiful patrolled beach not as busy as some. Close to the shops, cafes surf club for something to eat. You can hire chairs and lockers from the kiosk and then go for a beautiful nature walk
Captain Cook Memorial and Lighthouse– Captain Cook Memorial and Lighthouse offer beautiful vistas of the area’s shoreline. The monument stands on the demarcation line between Queensland and New South Wales – when you visit, you’ll have a rare opportunity to stand in two different time zones at once. The best views spread from the top of Point Danger Light–the lighthouse–so don’t forget to bring your camera. During the winter, you can spot whales passing by the coast.
Chris Cunningham Park- Lovely little park for a walk. Sea views, plenty of benches, lots of grass, a small beach.
The Strand at Coolangatta is the heart of beachside dining, shopping and entertainment in a world-famous waterfront location on the Southern Gold Coast.
